What happens before a treatment?
After you’ve booked an appointment, I will get in touch with you to carry out an initial consultation about your general health, lifestyle, and any particular concerns you have.
You can ask any questions you may have about holistic massage therapy.
I use massage oils and wax, so please let me know of any allergies before treatment.
What happens during a treatment?
On the day of your treatment, please keep hydrated, eat lightly, and wear comfortable clothing.
When you arrive, I will welcome you to a safe, warm and comfortable space where we will review your initial consultation form and check-in with how you’re feeling at that moment.
From there, we plan together what you would like from the massage and how you would like to greet the world again!
I will leave the room, so that you have time to undress appropriately and get comfy under a soft, warm sheet on the massage couch.
Remember that your massage treatment is about you reconnecting with yourself and allowing yourself space in this world to be present and simply pause.
During the massage, I will check that you are comfortable, but this is your time, so let me know at any point if you want the amount of pressure or any part of your massage treatment changed.
My massage practice is based on slow, soothing techniques, with some mobilisations (gently moving your arms and legs), and guiding the body to achieve relaxation.
I do not use painful deep practice but am able to work with an in-depth focus on any stubborn areas.
I aim to provide a safe, nurturing treatment which will leave you feeling freer, lighter, and deeply relaxed.
What happens after a treatment?
I will leave the room, allowing you time to re-enter the world gently, and get dressed.
I recommend that you keep hydrated for the following few days, but don’t drink alcohol — if you do choose to drink alcohol, please be aware that it may affect you differently from usual.
We will sit together for a few minutes and check in with each other, with a short aftercare chat.
How often?
This is entirely up to you.
One-off treatments provide excellent ‘stop, reset and pause’ opportunities.
Regular treatment, perhaps fortnightly or monthly as part of your self-care routine, is where holistic massage can be most beneficial and bring long-term benefits.
Working together over time allows us to deepen our connection, which can further improve your overall well-being.
